EA at work
Dependent on your browser a single click on a picture displays it at full screen. To return to this screen either press the Esc(ape) button or click the picture ‘X’. More pictures and video available on YouTube.com Search under 'Medmerry brings up numerous lnks. I have uploaded in area known as http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL88D23799119205ED More pages available by following the links near the base of each page to Older(New) Posts.
Narrow shingle bank
In another image you can see how only six days earlier the crest of the shingle bank was twice as wide at the same height. During these 6 days we had no storms just wind runs of 60miles for 3 days. Shingle that has 'disappeared' from here probably will materialize along at Bracklesham Bay. I call this lateral drift. I do hope S.O.S. member John Napper who under the watchful, eyes of Roland and Co. extend the scientific survey on shingle movement, using their stones that are fitted with transponders. These in-turn are monitored and the recordings are subsequent plotted and mapped and can be viewed in programs as Google Earth, etc.
Waiting for the tugs and barge
I was told by the one of the EA contractors that."this 'mother ship carries a working capacity load of 20000 tons". Additionally I was informed the total amount being landed is 60000 tons.I have included video clips on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL88D23799119205ED
Question, whats greater machines or rocks
These are spare if you want for the rockery
Just enlarge the image and you can see the size of these rocks.
Preparing for the breach at Medmerry
Four contractors or EA personnel looking at the area that is due to be flooded when the breach is made. The three articulated dumper trucks are being filled with clay type soil. You can see the excavator busy in one of the fields. This is then deposited where the bulldozer is waiting. It then levels the soil and every now and then the large Road-roller runs up and down to leave a compacted but muddy surface. there is a video clip on You TubeSunday, 15 January 2012
