Groynes and Sea Wall at Medmerry over the years

This picture is of me and my cousin in 1962, it is the clearest picture of the groynes conditions in those days.

Not much changed until just prior to 1995 when the E.A. machinery started to eradicate and damage the groynes. The 2nd photo was taken infront of the properties Summer Dawn and Ramona 1995.

I've skipped to August this year and then till today 23 December 2007. to show how much the wall has fallen away .This in my humble opinion is due to the removal of groynes, shuttering and faggots.

See how the beach floor has fallen. The height of the shingle used to be about 5ft (1.5m) from the top of SummerDawns Concrete Wall. Now whether due to inappropriate action or inactivity by the responsible authorities over the past 10 or so years the beach is not just Going but GONE!
